2022 Spring Conference - Speakers

 

Jessica McDonald, DVM, DACVO

Dr. McDonald graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison School of Veterinary Medicine in 2013. She completed a one-year internship in small animal medicine and surgery at Purdue University in West Lafayette, IN. She completed a residency in Comparative Ophthalmology at Eye Care for Animals in Salt Lake City, UT, and became a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Ophthalmologists (DACVO) in 2017. Since then, she is working in a busy clinical practice in NE Wisconsin. She has authored several scientific articles in veterinary journals, with a focus in glaucoma and alternative surgical techniques. When not in a pandemic, Dr. McDonald enjoys traveling, particularly for music concerts and festivals, paddleboarding, as well as spending time with her two dogs, Khola and Huxley.

 

Christian Nettune, DVM, DACVO

Dr. Chris Nettune is an ophthalmologist practicing in Dallas, Texas. Dr. Nettune’s father and older brother are MD ophthalmologists which provide for collaboration and innovative treatments between the professions. Dr. Nettune received his undergraduate degree from Vanderbilt University and his veterinary degree from Oklahoma State University. Following a one-year internship in small animal medicine and surgery at The Ohio State University, he completed a residency in veterinary ophthalmology in his hometown of Dallas, Texas. Dr. Nettune is a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Ophthalmology. In addition to private clinical practice, Dr. Nettune enjoys presenting on and discussing the various common ocular diseases in small animal patients, as well as how to set owner expectations for the best outcome. Outside of the practice of ophthalmology, Dr. Nettune enjoys spending time with his wife and two young daughters, fishing, playing tennis, music, and traveling.
