Topical Therapy for Infectious and Allergic Dermatoses (Kwochka)

With increasing systemic antimicrobial resistance, topical therapy has become critically important to successfully manage cutaneous infections. Topical therapy has also become important for allergic dermatoses based on new information on the pathogenesis of canine atopic dermatitis. These topics will be reviewed as well as product options and data to support their use for infectious and allergic dermatoses.

Omega-3 and Omega-6 Fatty Acids in Veterinary Medicine:
Mechanism of Action, Clinical Indications and Quality (Kwochka)

There are many indications involving multiple organ systems for the use of fatty acids in companion animal medicine. These will be reviewed in this presentation along with addressing supplement quality and product differences.

Dermatology Diagnostics Part 1 (Werner)

Do you really need (or want) a two-page dermatology questionnaire for every itchy patient or infected ear? Do you have time to follow with a 40-minute discussion of the work-up and treatment? This lecture will discuss the basic approach to the dermatology patient: from history to discussion — what to do at the first visit and how to more efficiently manage your time with the client.

This presentation will concentrate on causes of otitis, cytology, ear cleaning, treatment options and maintenance strategies. The various products will be compared and contrasted based on their indications for use.
