Kenneth Kwochka, DVM, DACVD

Dr. Kenneth Kwochka obtained his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the University of Missouri in 1979. He then moved to South Weymouth, MA for his internship at South Shore Veterinary Associates, and thereafter, to Florida for his residency at the University of Florida, School of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Kwochka became a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Dermatology in 1984. Dr. Kwochka is currently Veterinary Manager, Health and Wellness for Bayer Animal Health. In addition, he is also the President of the World Association for Veterinary Dermatology, as well as the President of the American College for Veterinary Dermatology. Dr. Kwochka has presented over 500 national scientific and continuing education presentations, thirty-four peer-reviewed journal article publications, and received thirty-two extra mural and industry research grants, in epidermal cell biology, cutaneous microbiology, atopic and flea allergy dermatitis and otitis. He received the American College of Veterinary Dermatology for excellence in Science Education and Service, the highest honor bestowed in the specialty and voted by peers in the ACVD.
 

Alexander Werner, VMD, DACVD

Dr. Werner was raised in the San Fernando Valley, and attended Harvard High School. He received his under-graduate degree from Iowa State University, and graduated from the University of Pennsylvania, School of Veterinary Medicine in 1987. Following a one-year internship in small animal medicine and surgery at California Animal Hospital, Dr. Werner was accepted to the residency program in veterinary dermatology at the University of California, Davis, School of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Werner passed his boards to become a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Dermatology in 1991, and has accepted referral cases in Los Angeles and in Reno, Nevada since that time. In addition to giving numerous lectures throughout the United States and in Canada, Dr. Werner has published many articles in peer-reviewed journals. He is the author of several book chapters, and most recently was co-editor of the dermatology section in the latest edition of the 5-minute Veterinary Consult textbook. He has been named editor of the dermatology section for the next edition, and will be co-editor of the new edition of the clinical companion for this textbook as well. Dr. Werner is the co-author of the new textbook Blackwell’s 5-Minute Consult Small Animal Dermatology 2nd edition.
